'PUBG Mobile' wins Seongnam Geno Alpha at the 2022 Esports Korea-Japan Exchange Games

 

Seongnam's Geno Alpha took first place among eight teams representing Korea and eight teams representing Japan at the 2022 Esports Korea-Japan Exchange ~PUBG Mobile~, organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Osaka. 

Now in its fourth year, the event is a place for cultural communication across language and border barriers, and this year's competition featured PUBG Mobile, the only Korean game among the eight games selected for the eSports program at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games.

The Korean teams that participated in the 2022 eSports Korea-Japan Exchange Games included 'Seongnam Geno Alpha', a team affiliated with Seongnam City, and 'SGA Incheon', a team affiliated with Incheon Metropolitan City, as well as other top domestic teams such as 'Survival' and 'Team Square', while the Japanese teams included 'Senkoku Gaming' and 'Vinostorm', totaling 16 teams from both countries.

Seongnam Geno Alpha was crowned the champion, taking first place out of 16 teams. The team also won first place in the PMOC 2022 Phase 2 tournament and is currently playing in the PMPS First Division of <Battlegrounds Mobile>. Seongnam Geno Alpha has been supported by fan membership platform Fantrie and the city of Seongnam as its main sponsor since 2021.
